This Year's Model Updates:

The Grand Cherokee is all new for 2005. Among the improvements are new four-wheel-drive systems, an independent front suspension, three excellent engine options and better ergonomics and build quality.

Pros:
  • Strong engine lineup, unmatched off-road ability, balanced handling, long list of advanced safety equipment, solid warranty.
Cons:
  • Hard plastic interior surfaces could use some padding, less cargo capacity than most midsize SUVs.

  • Best Jeep Yet - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

This is a much better Jeep than in previous years. Engine is powerful and responsive, and the ride is quiet and smooth. Handling is true and the car doesnt wander over the road as my 2004 Laredo did. So far, it has been a quality ride.

  • Ill Buy Another - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I was hesitant to buy a 2-wheel drive Jeep, and I didnt know that such a thing existed until I moved to Florida. I hear that the 06 and 07 models have limited slip differentials, which makes me anxious to buy an 07. Ive had a near perfect experience except for that queasy feeling when it rains and your right rear wheel slips and spins. Theyve fixed that now, I think.

  • Excellent vehicle after more than 3 year - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I traded a 2002 Overland for this 2005 Limited; my wife traded her 2001 Laredo for a 2005 GC Limited as well. Got a great deal and been happy with both of them (hers was a demo and is more fully loaded than mine). Granted, there have been a few minor glitches, but the dealer has been fantastic in getting things fixed correctly the first time. Mostly small stuff (ignition switch, steering angle sensor, various TSBs) and never anything that would leave us stranded.

  • I love my "Creep" - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

I have owned my Creep for 3 yrs. and I have not had any problems. I get avg. 19ish mpg driving 45(avg.)mph. Headroom in drivers seat could be higher for dh as he is 62". I have no problems at 55".My only big problem is water stains the cloth seats and when I try to clean with water it makes it worse. Back seat is not comfortable-quite hard in fact. My only complaints.

  • So Far ...We love it! - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

I was against buying a Jeep Grand Cherokee because of their poor maintenance records but my wife wanted one because of her experience in the past. Drove everything else on the market (and I mean EVERTHING else) trying to talk her out of it...but the ride in this car blew ME away! We are going on two years and almost 30K with no problems...none! Im a believer!

We own two Jeep Limited 2004 and we love them. In 2006 when the new bigger Jeeps come out we will be purchasing it also. We have owned Jeeps in the past and they are wonderful vehicles.

  • The Best - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

This is my third Jeep and it is the best ever. The ride is smooth and handling is great. I travel at lot as the result of my job and I feel very safe in this SUV. Also the features added to this years model make it very appealing to women. Very comfortable on long tips.

Very reliable and sturdy vehicle. Have had good luck with this SUV and this is my second one. Great price and plenty of HP for towing. Great vehicle for this New England weather. Have been a proud owner since 2000 and would buy another in about 3 more years.

  • JEEP is great - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

This was my 3rd Jeep in a row, I enjoy driving them and I find the seating room good and the cargo area even better when rear seats are folded down. Would prefer easier folding of the rear seats.

  • Very pleased with our 05 Hemi GC Limited - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

Let me say right up front that my wife and I love our new GC. Like any vehicle it has a few quirks and some weaknesses, but they are few and far between. The integrated feel of the steering, engine, brakes and transmission tell me that Daimler had an influence on the redesign of the GC. Even the sound/feel of the doors closing shows a refined level of engineering and manufacture. I am much more confident with New York driving on washboard sections at curves thanks to the independent front suspension. The previous GC models could not keep up with the road surface and would attempt to leave the ground. The new model feels safer all around. Seats are great, sound is great with the fader set for full rear.
